Come be a part of our Herd Share!
We have Jersey cows. Our cows are tested A2 cows. They live their days grazing in our pastures.
We believe in full transparency on our farm. When pastures are not at their best, they are supplemented with unsprayed hay. At milking time, the Jersey cows are given a diary ration (organic corn, barley, oats, peas, alfalfa pellets, and sunflower seeds. We use rotational grazing practices on our farm to keep up herd health. They also have access to minerals to maintain herd health.
In the state of Tennessee the only way to obtain unpasteurized, raw milk is through a herd share or for “pet consumption only”. On our farm, we use the herd share method. We will begin offering “pet milk” summer of 2025 for those that do not want to get milk of a weekly basis.
What is a herd share exactly? Think of it as a membership. You have ownership in part of the herd and therefore, you get to consume milk from your cow. They way it works, is you pay the farmer a monthly fee to house, care for, milk, etc the herd. In return, you get milk on a weekly basis. The buy in for our farm is $100. You will then pay a monthly fee at the 1st of every month based on your share. A full share is $50 per month for one gallon per week and a half share is $30 per month for a half gallon per week. You may purchase more than one share if there is availability.
Pick up is on our farm on the day of your choosing, except Sundays.
